Paul and Tasca Gulick: Real Property Makes a Real Difference
Paul and Tasca Gulick were driving down the Oregon Coast one afternoon when they spotted a beautiful piece of property for sale. They had no plans for it, but felt compelled to buy it anyway. "It wasn't zoned for anything we needed, but we figured that maybe someday we'd be able to put it to good use," explained Paul.

Turns out, Paul was right. A few years later, they learned that CCA was looking for a piece of land where they could build a special retreat for seriously ill children and their families. "It was an easy decision for us," said Tasca. "We had the perfect piece of property, and we couldn't think of a better use for it."

The Gulicks donated 26 acres of their land – a pristine wooded parcel complete with its own pond. CCA took it from there, coordinating zoning permits and working with an architect to create the Caring Cabin, an idyllic getaway where kids and families create precious memories.

As a result of their generous gift, Paul and Tasca received substantial capital gains tax savings. But for them, the real reward is the grateful cards and letters they receive from children who have stayed at the cabin. "They tell us about all the fun things they did with their family," said Paul. "It's so fulfilling."

Should you choose transfer a home, buildings, or land to CCA, we can begin using your property today or sell it later and use the proceeds to fund our innovative programs. You'll avoid real estate taxes, the cost of upkeep, and the hassle of selling. Best of all, your gift of real property will help further our mission of JoyRx for years to come.

"CCA does an incredible job of using their resources to realize their vision of joy," said Paul. "We've never had a microsecond of regret."
